Serie 2: Fashionista Quick Fix Pants Hemline

Have you ever had a problem where you can only wear certain pants with high heels and others with only low heels because of the hemline issue? Or do you just wear the same pair of pants irregardless that when you wear with flats it practically wipes the floor alternatively , look strangely hanging because the length is more suited for wearing ballet pumps. If you have watched this movie starring Sigourney Weaver and Melanie Griffith called “Working Girls” , what you were too young then , get a DVD. It is a classic. A very common scene in the movie is  how  the working girls ( typing pool girls) in New York city have to walk to work  and what they do is they always go to and from the office in sneakers and carry  along their high heels cause it is probably bl*&%# agony to walk in heels . But what happens when they wear pants? Get the dilemma? Anyway, in the movie they all wore short skirts , well it was the Eighties fashion with huge shoulder padded jackets too….which incidentally is also this Spring Summer 2009 trend… fast forward 2009, problem solved !

I  found this site that sells  an interesting product , the site is called www.zakkerz.com, here’s what they say:

Magnetic zakkerz (n.) a temporary pant roll-up wrap used to hold pants that have been rolled up to a shorter length for flat shoes.

zakkerz come in two lengths:

packorigtn

zakkerz original — magnets close on the roll-up.
Best suited for lightweight flimsy fabrics that need extra hold on the roll-up.

packlonggry

zakkerz long — magnets close above the roll-up holding single pant layer.
For medium to heavyweight fabrics, jeans, and Capri roll-ups.

What are zakkerz made of?
zakkerz are flexible fabric strips that contain specially designed strong magnets.mA set includes 4 zakkerz – use 2 per pant leg.

How do zakkerz work?
Roll pant leg up to desired length, then wrap zakkerz around bottom of pant with one end of zakkerz inside pant leg and other end outside pant leg. The magnets bring the two ends of the zakkerz together – holding the roll-up in place.

My verdit: A very nifty and functional idea but I think it looks a little clumsy because it is too big. Would have preferred something a little less obvious and more refined. But kudos to the inventor for coming up with this item. I mean if you don’t mind the bulk , you can’t deny it’s practicality. It is also good that they come in a variety of basic colors , black, light  gray, beige and tan, brown  and daisy which is the most popular color for pants especially work pants, however the color contrast can be quite obvious which means you probably need to buy the pants to suit the zakkerz ‘s color. But that is okay for me because I could just limit it to the few pieces of good quality work pants that I usually wear except that now I get the liberty of  alternating low and high heels with the same pair of pants .

What do you think?
