How to Spring up your look with Hair Accessories
By: yetmee
Apparently, fussy hair accessories is gonna be in this Spring Summer. But you know, I am not one to ever fuss about my hair and I have always marveled at people who spend time and trouble to get their hair coiffured. The less fuss for me the better. But trend beckons that I re-explore this item of fuzziness on my scalp which apparently will create a look that will not only make me look unique but bring out the best of my features as well as my attire.
So let’s start with hats; hats are good, I can live with that especially fedoras and berets (used to love, still love my Dad’s old army beret for my winter trips out of the country). They cover a multitude of sins from bad hair days to bad nights resulting in eye bags and pale lips. Then there is the hairband (which we have written many versions of) okay that too I can live with in fact real handy when washing my face and at the gym. Hairpins , I have sort of outgrown it in more ways than I really like to think of . Scarves, I leave it in my head when I picture myself in a convertible with Jackie O shades, red lipstick with trailing hair and scarf. That pretty much covers all the ways I will not be “dressing up” my head of hair.
Anna Piaggi
But think for a moment style icons like Anna Piaggi (Italian Vogue Editor , and only the most stylish albeit quirky stylish living Vogue Editor then think Katy Perry, she also has the makings of a true style icon ), they just wear the oddest hair accessories and look good, granted, often times really odd. But that is style isn’t it, meat to some yet poison to others and with more than a little daredevilishness with tongue in chic humour.
But I have to admit some of the hair accessories that I have seen on the runway lately does give me food for thought on the possibility of using them on a day to day basis, notably Karl Lagerfeld’s piece. Imagine a piece of lace cut and pinned on to hair. It is, I must say captivating without quite going over the edge in case we are of the fainthearted ie want to be stylish but a bit scared people will think we are off our rockers.
Some of the seasons more deliberate hair accessories from Karl Lagerfeld , atPPQ by Amy Molineux and Jean Paul Gaultier as seen in his Spring Summer 2009 collection. Where the accessories makes a statement rather than as an accompaniment.

Styling those hair is not a big deal. Most difficult part is how to maintain it and how to unstyle it.
