Eco-Friendly Shoes

Fashion is always going green. Everyone now probably own a green shopping bag. If you don’t already, go get one. Most majpr shopping complexes have been giving out green bags, and you can also get those pretty ones from Envirosax, Roo-shoppers and Rume bags in shops like Tiny Tapir.People are using less plastic bags now. Which is a good thing, considering how the world is going to suffer in the near future and aliens will come and destroy our world (Watch “The day the earth stood still). lols

Melissa Plastic Dreams realise how important it is to recycle and came up with an awesome way of helping the world. This Brazillian designer designed plastic shoes that are made out of materials which are totally bio-degradable. They wanted to produce shoes that won’t hard the environment. These plastic beauties aren’t like those cheap pasar malam shoes which are totally deformed, but they are really cute and according to some reviews, they are uber comfortable.

All Melissa’s shoes are made of sustainable, natural rubber. The shoes would eventually mold to your feet after just a few wears. Being rubber, the shoes are also totally waterproof and you guessed it right, it cvan be cleaned by just washing it with water and soap. Move away ugly Crocs, Melissa’s shoes look way better and I would assume it would be super comfortable for those long hours of walking (I really don’t like how Croc looks, but I’ve tried a few on and its super comfortable!).

I’m not too sure if any departental stores carry Melissa’s shoes here in Malaysia. According to FemmeThing, Melissa Plastic Dreams can be bought at FrontRow, Singapore.

    i bought them at Bata, lol. even though the designs are different but more or less they are the same, made from plastic. =). It was long time ago, not sure whether is still available or not, but hopefully it is.

    I’ve seen the ones Bata sell. Quite pretty. But don’t they make your feet clammy in our hot and humid weather? And won’t they heat up also?
