Scarves’ the limit
By: CherrypopScarves are one of the easiest ways to keep warm in any chilly room and is an accessory chic enough to be worn draped over any plain outfit to make it more interesting. While we experience a tropical climate warm enough to induce odd looks from passersby who see individuals wearing a scarf as crazy, there’s no reason as to why you can’t don one. Worn in different ways, a scarf can be knotted to look girlish, polished and of course, casual. These stylish individuals show that lightweight layering with a scarf is the perfect accompaniment to their look and we can also emulate this. Just go easy on the coats and knitwear.

This minimalist look of a simple knit top and ankle-length pants is achievable when you wrap a scarf around your neck like it is a collar of the top. The best scarves to do this are solid-colored ones. All you need is a belt to cinch at the waist to finish off the look

Something bolder and more daring on a dull day would be this combination of sunny yellow trousers with a grey blazer and ankle strap heels. The watery floral print with its shades of green and rose red add a feminine, spring rough to her cheery getup

Wearing a more subdued, neutral palate allows for details like the zipper on her skirt and her large tote to stand out, but what really attracted me to her was the way the grey knit scarf had been carelessly wound around her neck with its ends showing. Here’s an example of how a scarf can be worn to achieve a biker-chic type outfit

Something quirky about the hat and the scarf ribboned into a pretty bow makes this combination sweet, yet boyish. Try this type of knotting with a collared shirt and a pair of jeans so the ribbon sits almost like a necklace

Here, a scarf with a bold print by Matthew Williamson will liven up a neutral hued shift dress and colourful booties

Michael Kors’ scarf in a fiery red ombre will add some spice to your work wardrobe if you drape it over a dark suit and it can also transform your LBD for a date if you knot it around your neck like a collar

Cable knit scarves are popular in helping you keep extra warm in class and they lend a cosy, warm feel to a dress or blazer for some preppy chic. This woolly Missoni one is great for draping around the shoulders for some colour .
