Pos Malaysia on holiday?
By: karenmarie
I was told that Pos Laju/Pos Malaysia service is not operating from 30th September till 5th October. OMG, such long holiday for a postal service. For so many days, all e-commerce/online shops/online traders who uses Pos Laju as their main courier service will have to stop their businesses (well at least cannot send parcel, unless they find a different courier service).
More details here.
Most online shops that I know of rely on pos laju to send their parcel. How do you feel about this 6 day holiday for a service as important like that?

I would feel very happy if I was working with them.
Are all their postmen celebrating Hari Raya? it’s absurb that things like this comes to a halt because of the holiday period. Given the official public holidays I would understand but why 5 days straight! what will happen to our posts/mails during this period? FEDEX?
Are they giving 5 days holiday during chinese new year, deepavali and christmas too?

I got this news yesterday when I went to sent my customers’ parcels. I wonder why other Chinese and Indian staffs have to take such long holidays as well, I think they should be the backups instead of stopping the service for so long.
Plus, personally I think 6 days holiday is too long for an organization providing such important service.

If you check the announcement on Pos Malaysia website, I don’t think it is going to be closed, only some adjustments for the opening hours etc.
Based on my understanding, the opening hours of post offices are shortened to 2 pm, while for Poslaju, the PosLaju center will be closed at 5pm. Services will resume to normal operating hours by 6 pm.

*faints*
Pos Malaysia stands for everything… normal mail, registered mail, pos laju, pos express… just amazed how “naive” ppl can be.
And yes, they are gonna be closed!!! I’ve double and triple checked this with trust worthy ppl. They claimed they have shortened their hours? Try to go to their PO maybe in the next 2 days and see if they open the door for you =)
Anyway, not only Pos Malaysia is put on hold… everything else is on hold till Oct 5… did anyone suffered the petrol issue today? Omg, I am so… cheesed off!

hey guys, i personally think it’s not wrong for Pos Malaysia to close for 5 days. Think about it, the staff around Malaysia actually HAD to work on SUNDAY for the rebate thing for all the customers out there, but no one ever appreciate!all u ppl ever think of is urself, gif them a break! no banks or other institution work as hard as the staff of pos malaysia. i am a regular customer of Pos Malaysia, and i c how well they perform and the service they gif is excellent. On top of all, they opened on the 3rd day of raya cos of all ur demands. U think other institution would do the same? i dont think so…so stop complaining!

Hi, Razman, the question I think isn’t about whether its Raya or CNY , but rather
1) whether closing for six days for a civil service and how it affects the people of this nation (all races, yah)
2) what about other races stepping in to maintain service whilst their counterparts who celebrate Raya can still enjoy a longer holiday
3) what happens if Telekom or Tenaga decides to do the same?
Kita semua , kan sekutu…
Pls keep sending comments , we love this discussion

I never felt the services they give is excellent. If terpaksa, i will just say ok.I’ve seen some of them shouting at customers. And when u didnt give the little sen needed and they need to give back the change….gosh!u see their face..as if we owe them and we must bring the exact amount! On 29th sept i paid RM77.00 for pos laju to london(registration form & bank draft-study purposes) and yet this is the services i get in return~The University havent receive anything till today!!!!!Hw many days ad?!YES they should have holiday but come on la…they wanna be like student having 1 week holidays??pos laju -nampaknya tak laju pun.i do appreciate them but we do pay also right?!i still can accept if they are having 3days holidays but 5?I would said its too over.what to do?just hoping they wont repeat this for every celebration we had in malaysia.LOL

yup, i agree with samantha…they definitely do not have ‘excellent’ service..i’ve seen them shouting, literally screaming at an old man because he couldn’t hear properly so he kept going ‘aah? aah?’ and the post office lady kept screaming like a mad woman..you know, i felt so angry i wanted to just give her a tight slap!

This year 2008, I never received any Tesco vouchers. From January to December, not a single voucher come to my house. When I asked Tesco people they said, all vouchers are posted to respective address. The most complains came from Bandar Sri Alam residents.
So who is the culprit ?
Who stole my Tesco shopping voucher ?
Now I also did not received my ATM pin number posted from a bank.
Something is wrong with Pos Malaysia Seri Alam warehouse.
