Why PETA is so adamant in their quest-beauty without pain?

A Shocking Look at Chinese Fur Trade
This video attached (sent by a reader) is not for the faint hearted and not my idea of a sunday morning brunch read, but it is a MUST SEE!!. I always wondered about the vehemence bordering on violence of PETA demonstrations against fur wearers and the capitalizing of fur in the fashion world. I personally do not wear fur , cutting down on tuna and don’t forget the shark’s fin soup in the one or two wedding dinners I attend in a year, so I do my little bit (I mean, I am socially conscious and all) . But I used to wonder at these NGOs’ passion , I mean what is all the fuss , aren’t some animals borne for the sole purpose of being in the food chain to ensure the survival of mankind, a chain decided only God knows when .
I confess that I have touched a mink stole and was quite impressed and very undertanding after that of why people who can afford it wear it. But think of those beautiful little minks , scurrying around and then skinned…. I hope theirs was a less painful ending .
I hereby declare NEVER, EVER again will I allow myself to admire fur except on which skin it grew on , is still attached and alive.
The way these fur are gotten defies words to describe , goes against any understanding even if it is for the most basic human instinct for survival because it is the fight for survival (man versus beast). However, the callousness and cruelty of the methods leaves me bewildered, I am still reeling from the pain in the raccoon’s eyes, I want to throw up.. . How could they inflict such pain and not be moved ….
Then again , it is a case of where there is demand , there will be supply …how would anyone want to wear anything that originated and was created from such pain….can fashion not exist without any pain, is it not enough the pain from killer stilettoes , do we really want to bear the burden of the animal’s pain as well…
Salute to designers like Stella McCartney and all those who are against any kind of animal cruelty and may you design some stilletoes that are less torturous as well.

I (We) dont, and will never ever condone to any sort of animal cruelty in the name of art nor fashion.
God created animals not for us to exploit them for the sake of fun or beauty. Animals have feelings too and they too, are able to feel pain, just like any of us.
Please support PETA, SPCA and PAWS efforts to educate the society on animals’ welfare. Help those who are unable to speak or defend themselves.

When the demand stops, supply will drop and cease. Please help spread the message and pray hard that someday everyone will understand the pain the animals have to go through in order to get their fur. Please get educated.

I watch the video for the first two seconds and I stopped. I just couldn’t continue on. I did not know what happened. My siblings narrated it to me.
Put ourselves in the shoes of those pity creatures. Have they tried that? Am strongly agree with Angeline. I can’t feel the pain but I know it’s excruciating. Human seeks for medical treatment even for a little bit of injuries which is extremely incomparable to those suffered by these pity creatures. Try to think for the animals too.
It is really useless to get naked, and get wrapped with statement banners. I do think that it is just some models’ tactic of getting publication. I am not sure about it but I really hope that PETA would do something more practical about it.
