Travel in style

Everyone loves traveling, including me! Whether it’s to the beach, or the another city in a foreign country, it’ll be a fresh new and really fun adventure to discover new things, sights and gain knowledge. Most importantly, it’s when you can unwind, do anything you like, and not worry about work at all.

However, the difficult part about traveling is always the packing. We would love to travel light, and yet, have everything we need with us. It’s a real headache! Worrying about under-packing and wondering if you didn’t bring that dress, and the occasion to wear that dress during the vacation comes up, or over-packing, and come back with half the clothes you packed, not worn at the end of the vacation. So the solution is to decide what look you’re trying to achieve, depending on where you are going.

There are many key looks you could achieve while traveling would be if you rather settle for comfortable and cool look, or making sure you always look casual chic, or perhaps, some would love to look more dressed up while on vacation.

Nevertheless, you could always achieve looking chic and appropriate while still being comfy as long as you decide on your key look and bring along a few important items and accessories to bling it up!

Firstly would be the colors that you pick. It is very advisable to stick with the neutral colors palette (black, white, khaki and denim are ideal). No, it’s not boring! You can always add a few key pieces to spice up your look such as a huge beaded necklace with a simple white tee.

Next, fabrics of clothes should be taken into consideration. Silk and satins are no-nos! I’m very sure you don’t want to spend your time during vacation straightening and ironing out your clothes before putting them out. It just gives extra stress, I mean, who wants to do ironing while on vacation? Instead, choose fabrics like crinkled linen and lycra + cottons.

Other than that, do try NOT to bring your expensive jewelries. You could always try cheaper alternatives such as costume jewelry or purchase some local treasures from the place you’re vacationing at! (Such as seashells necklace near the beach). Also, bring at least 2 pairs of bare minimal which are casual sandals and dressing sandals. If you’re planning to walk a lot during the vacation, do bring along sneakers and do not forget flip flops, which are really important for miscellaneous activities.

Clothes wise, do go simple. Do not bring along your flashy sexy tee with famous designer splashed across your chest. Bring simple dressy shirts and more tank tops as you will be moving around a lot, plus it looks great with anything! Tank top with shorts makes you look sporty, while tank tops with a cute skirt and a pretty necklace will change your whole look.

Remember to bring along a light jacket or cardigan in case it gets too chilly. If you’re planning to dress up during the vacation for just one night, but not too sure what the plans are, the best bet is to bring your best buddy, the LBD ;) most importantly, have fun during your vacation!
