The Tribute

Louis Vuitton. When you hear this name, what pops into your mind? This legendary designer has come up with many gorgeous and different designs that just simply blow your mind away. Of course, you could never forget the signature LV monograms, be it on bags, wallets and trunks. Celebrities can be seen carrying their bags all over the place.

Of course, the KL-ites can get some goodies from their concept store at Bintang Walk, provided that you have a healthy paycheck or hefty allowances. Some of their pieces are a marvel to look at, and it will definitely fetch enough attention from passer-bys and impress your friends!

The much awaited LV tribute Patchwork bags are out now and can be seen at their spring 2007 runway. The tote sized bag seems to be made from uncountable bags used as patchwork. As you can see, many bags are spoiled to make this collection piece, so the price tag of $42,000 shouldn’t come as shocking. The bag has golden chain and leather strap, and is a combination of all kinds of bags that are in denim, leather, fur and a lot more.

This tribute bag has definitely fetched a lot of attention and many have something to say about it. Some may like it for its difference and style, and definitely, many will scurry to get it because it’s a collector’s item, despite its hefty price.

However, bagsnob.com (link: http://www.bagsnob.com) said that the bag “looks like an angry salesperson decided to cut up all the ugly bags on the shelves of an LV boutique and to salvage them, the designers made the pieces into one single bag and called it the ¡®Tribute Patchwork’ bag”.

It’s definitely an individual taste on whether the bag is worth the sum, for some might get it just for the sake that it is collector’s item, and some might purchase it for its difference and artwork. I would just sit here; stare at it, wondering if I could ever afford such luxurious bag this lifetime.
