Eat the colour of the year, everyday!

If you’re bored of seeing greens everyday in your diet, eat more red coloured fruits and vegetables. It is essential that people take 4-6 servings of fruits and vegetables everyday. Why not add some colour into your daily fruit intake so that you won’t get bored with your food.

Tomatoes

Red coloured foods are very healthy and had many sources of vitamins and antioxidants. For example, strawberries are red because of anthocyanins. This antioxidant found in these red goodness are pigments that help people fight cancerous cells and prevent heart diseases. this antioxidant is also found in cherries and raspberries. Tomatoes too have an antioxidant called lycopene that fights cancer and helps to prevent cardiovascular diseases. One of my all time favourites are Pomegranates. They are a little hard to eat, but they are very delicious. Pomegranates are very rich in antioxidants and it helps prevent cancer, osteoarthritis and also heart diseases. Peppers too are a healthy red coloured fruit.

These fruits are not only healthy for us,in fact, by just looking at is, your mind will be psychologically enhanced! According to Sensation Colour, the colour red brings out the enthusiasm in you. Confidence also can be boosted by just looking at it. It can increase your blood pressure, respiration, heartbeat and pulse rate. Imagine that!

So the next time you think of your daily fruits intake,  try red coloured fruits. They will not only make you healthier, they can also boost your confidence. If that is not enough to convince you, Chili Pepper (Pantone 19-1557) which is a red tone is Pantone’s Colour of the Year! You can not only be fashionable in red, eating too can be glamourous!
